That shortcut my old boss swore by just cost me a whole day...
Old man Gary at the shop kept telling me to skip the tack strip on doorways and just glue the carpet down tight. I tried it on a job in a small condo last week, and now the edge is already lifting at the transition strip. Had to pull it all back up and redo it with proper tack strip, took me about 6 hours extra. Has anyone else had a so-called pro tip backfire like this on a job?
