I laughed when my buddy said buy the expensive one, but that cheap thing just snapped mid stretch on a 12 foot seam in Phoenix. Anyone else burn through budget tools faster than they save money?

Is 9 months really that bad for a $60 tool? You stretched a 12 foot seam in Phoenix heat, that's brutal on any equipment. Cheap tools break, expensive tools break too, it's just part of the job.
