This homeowner in Everett kept asking me to 'just tuck it under' the baseboard that was already glued down.
I had to explain three separate times, in their kitchen at 4 PM on a Tuesday, that you can't magically stretch carpet under a fixed trim piece without pulling the whole wall out (which I'm definitely not doing for a basic install).

Wait, can't you just cut a clean edge and use a transition strip? Seems easier than fighting the trim.

Spot on, that's the move. People always overcomplicate stuff trying to make it perfect when the simple fix works fine lol.

Transition strips look cheap and collect dust like crazy in my experience. A cleanly cut trim piece that matches the rest of the room just looks way more finished. Plus once you glue that strip down, good luck ever getting it back up clean if you need to.
