TIL carpet pad density ratings are basically meaningless on the box
Pulled a 8lb pad out of a 700 dollar job yesterday and the label said 'high density' but it squished flat under my knee in 2 seconds. Dug around and found the actual ASTM D-3676 spec online, turns out they can print whatever they want if it has a foam core. Anyone else weigh their rolls before trusting the print?
