Tried a power stretcher on a tight hallway, got a huge ripple instead

I used a power stretcher in a 3-foot wide hallway last week and ended up with a ripple right in the middle. Any tips for keeping it flat in narrow spaces without overstretching?

Dude I did the EXACT same thing in my 4 foot laundry room and wound up with this wave that looked like a speed bump. I finally got it flat by making like 8 small passes from the center out instead of one big stretch. You try going diagonal yet or just straight down the hall?

Man that speed bump wave is the WORST, I feel your pain. Small passes from the center out is honestly the only way it works in tight spots.

@xenarobinson mentioned going diagonal, I've been wondering if that actually makes a difference or if it's just personal preference? Because in a narrow hall straight passes seem like the only real option.
