Walked into a hotel in Dallas being built and saw the pad laid before the walls went up, right or wrong?
Stopped by a job site in Dallas two months back to look at a 180 room hotel and the carpet pad was already glued down across the whole second floor before any drywall or paint work even started. The super there swore it saves time because the trades just roll over it, but I keep thinking about paint drips, ladders digging in, and dust getting mashed into the pad by every sub who walks through. Other side of it is the GC eats the cost of a re-stretch if the pad shifts, so maybe he does not care. Pads are cheap but callbacks are not, so who is actually right here? Do you all lay pad early to beat the drywall crowd or wait it out?
