Wasted $400 on a cheap power stretcher that broke after 3 rooms

I figured I'd save some cash and bought one of those no-name power stretchers online. It came in a plain box, but I thought hey, how different can they be? Well, the adjuster pin snapped on the third bedroom I did, a 12x14 with heavy Berber. The customer's carpet already had ripples from the first stretch, and I had to call the supplier to borrow their real one. I spent 2 extra hours fixing the mess and replacing that junk stretcher with a decent Roberts model. Anyone else ever cheap out on a tool and end up paying double in the long run?

Man, @burns.ruby you're having a rough week with snaps. First a Berber and I'm guessing something else before that. I've had a Berber break on me before, it's like the universe just decided you weren't getting that rug done today. Hope you at least got to punch a wall or something to let off steam.
