I finally stopped defending Fahrenheit 451 as a 'classic' after a librarian in Portland pointed out it's literally about banning books lol

She said the novel gets celebrated by the same people who cheer for local school boards pulling graphic novels about race from library shelves, and I realized I was one of those people for years without seeing the connection - has anyone else had their favorite 'banned book' turn into something they actually hate in practice?
