Met a retired teacher in a used bookstore in Chicago who handed me a banned copy of 'The Bluest Eye'
She said her school district pulled it from the library in 1998 and she kept her personal copy hidden for years. Has anyone else gotten a book passed to them like it was a secret?

@gavin_kim3 wait until you hear about the box of old textbooks my aunt kept in her basement after her school district "updated" the curriculum. pretty sure half of them were just inconvenient history.
