My kid's school library pulled that graphic novel about Anne Frank, so I read it to her myself at bedtime
Turns out my 8 year old had more mature questions about history than the school board did, and we ended up spending 45 minutes talking about WWII after I finished reading. Has anyone else just gone around the bans with their own kids?

Wait, you mean an 8 year old can handle complex historical topics better than grown adults on a school board? Ngl, that's both sad and hilarious at the same time. Guess the board's scared a graphic novel might teach kids more than their carefully filtered version of history.

Ha, so true, I saw a third grader explain the Civil War better than my own cousin once.
