Our town's Pride display got 'vandalized' and the mayor sided with the censor

Last June in Boise, someone tore down the library's banned books exhibit and the mayor called it 'community feedback,' so I photographed the damage and filed a formal complaint with the state arts council, and I'm wondering what other folks have done when local officials quietly back censorship?
