Remember when they said that book about Tiananmen Square was pure fiction, but my history professor in 2010 quietly slid me a copy after class.
Reading those firsthand accounts from Beijing in '89, with dates and names that matched other records I found, made me see how a story can be erased from one place but still be true.

Right? Mine just emailed the PDF to the whole class. It's like they don't even care about the bookstore anymore.
