So I was reading about banned kids books in a Florida school district...
I found this list online of books pulled from a county near Tampa, and one of them was a picture book about a gay penguin couple. The crazy part was the reason given... 'sexual content'. For a kids book about penguins finding an egg. I just stared at my screen for a solid minute. Has anyone else seen a reason for a ban that just made zero sense to them?

Oh man, I saw one banned for 'violence' because a dragon breathed fire.

Has anyone else noticed how this kind of thing fits into a bigger pattern where everyday stuff gets labeled as dangerous? @brookep62, it reminds me of how some schools won't let kids play tag at recess because it's 'roughhousing' even though it's a totally normal game. It feels like the same overreaction that turned a penguin book into 'sexual content' when it's really just about family.
