Tried reading the uncut version of The Satanic Verses after the censored one, and the cut version was way easier to follow
I grabbed a censored copy of The Satanic Verses from a library in Dearborn last month and then found the full text online, and honestly the banned parts just made those dream sequences more confusing. The censored version from 1989 kept the story moving while the full version piled on paragraphs that felt like they were written in a different language, which is weird because I expected the opposite. Did the bans actually make the book easier to read for anyone else, or am I just bad at keeping track of dream logic?
