Warning: my "approved" translation of Persepolis lost its funding in Brazil
Tbh I had to choose between submitting my own plain translation of Persepolis for a Sao Paulo school program or using the publisher's sanitized version that cut the torture scene, and I went with mine, which got the whole project pulled after 2 weeks when a parent complained to the city board, so has anyone else had to gut an honest version just to keep a book in classrooms?
