A librarian in Tulsa showed me a book with a page cut out, and I finally get why this stuff matters
I was dropping off mail at the downtown branch in Tulsa last week and the librarian at the front desk waved me over to show me something. She had a 1962 cookbook where someone had literally sliced out a whole page with a razor, and she said it happens way more than people think. She keeps a folder of these finds and it has everything from blacked out names to pages glued together. I never cared much about this stuff before but seeing the actual cut page in person hit different than any screenshot. Has anyone else run into a physical book with pages removed, or is this mostly a digital thing now?
