Reddit auto-removed my screenshot of a censored article and the mods would not tell me why
I tried posting a screenshot of a news site in Turkey that had a whole paragraph blurred out, and Reddit's automod nuked it in under 30 seconds. The message just said it broke a rule, no link to which one. I messaged the mods of that sub and got one reply back: "we can't discuss removals." So I flipped the image upside down and reposted it with a dumb caption about breakfast, and it stayed up for 3 days before a human mod pulled it. If you get hit by automod like this, try cropping out the URL bar at the top of the screenshot, that seemed to be the trigger for me. Has anyone else had a censored screenshot die to a bot instead of a person?

Cropping the URL bar is a solid tip, that matches what I ran into. Every time I posted a link or a screen grab with the site name showing, the bot grabbed it before a real person ever saw it. What worked for me was wiping the logo and the web address and just leaving the article text, then posting it as a regular image instead of a link. It still got pulled later once people started commenting, but at least it got seen first. The bots seem to flag certain domains way harder than anything in the picture itself.
