Got a 30 day mute on a gaming forum for calling a bad patch 'a trash fire'
Last Tuesday I got hit with a 30 day mute on a gaming forum I have used for 6 years. The mod message said my comment about the new patch was 'inflammatory language' because I called it a trash fire. I was talking about a video game update, not a person. I appealed it once and got a copy paste reply about 'keeping things civil.' Since then I have been writing patch complaints like a corporate memo, all 'this change feels rough' and 'I would prefer the old version.' It works but it feels silly to write like that about a hobby. Has anyone here found a way to complain about stuff without tripping the filters, or do you just stop posting there?
I used to roll my eyes at people who said "just write it nicer" because it felt like giving in to the mods. Then I got a week long ban for saying a boss fight was garbage, and honestly the polite version got me a real answer from a dev. Still feels dumb to write like a business email about a video game though.
