I got a 3 day ban on Nextdoor for typing the word 'squatter' and now I just say 'uninvited resident'
Last month I got a 3 day ban on Nextdoor for a post about a house down the street from me in Akron. All I said was that a squatter had been living in the empty place since March. Boom, banned for 'harmful language.' I sat there staring at my phone wondering what year it was. Before that I would have typed the word, shrugged, and moved on. Now I write 'uninvited resident' and the post goes through fine with zero issues. It feels dumb but it also works, and my neighbors still know exactly what I mean. What words have you all swapped out to get past a mod, and did the replacement actually stick for you or did you forget it every time?
Stealing "uninvited resident" for sure, that's way better than anything I came up with. Mine was "person who is not on the lease" and it worked but takes forever to type. Honestly the mods don't even read half of it, they just scan for trigger words.
