Burnt my hand on a flat top last Tuesday and now I'm rethinking my whole glove setup

Searched 800 burgers in 4 hours without a glove on my left hand until that one slip got me a blister that's still healing, anyone got a recommendation for a heat-resistant glove that actually lets you feel when a patty is done?

Damn, that actually makes a lot of sense. Never thought about the sweat thing causing more damage. @caseys30 you might be onto something with that kevlar setup, I always figured you needed rubber or silicone for heat but guess not.

Our kitchen used those silicon lined gloves for a while but they trap heat against your skin and make it worse. I switched to a kevlar weave glove with a thin leather palm, paid about 25 bucks at a restaurant supply store. It lets me feel the doneness through the fabric and I can grab hot pans without that wet heat building up. The blister you got sounds like a classic moisture burn from sweat under a glove.
