Just realized my plating looked like a mess until I started using tweezers
Six months ago, my dishes were sloppy, but after forcing myself to use tweezers for every garnish, my presentation is way cleaner. What's one small tool that totally changed your work?

Hold on, I gotta push back on this a little. Is your plating REALLY that bad that tweezers are the answer? I feel like people on here act like food is gonna taste different if the parsley is exactly 2.5 centimeters from the edge of the plate. I dunno, man. I use my fingers. I just pinch and place and it's fine. Nobody's ever sent their steak back because the microgreens were crooked. To me, this whole tweezers thing feels like a solution looking for a problem, or maybe a way to justify buying another gadget you saw on Instagram. I'm not saying your food looks bad, I'm just saying maybe you can relax a little.

Forcing yourself to use tweezers is smart because it makes you slow down. I had the same thing with a cake scraper. I used to just frost with a knife and it looked homemade, in a bad way. The scraper forces your hand into one flat angle, so you get those clean, sharp sides without even trying. It's less about the tool and more about how it limits your mistakes.

Right, that's exactly what I've been trying to explain to people. It's not about the tool being FANCY, it's about the tool being DUMB and simple so YOU can't mess it up. A knife gives you too many options, you know? You can twist it, tilt it, press harder in one spot. The scraper is basically a straight line on a stick. It takes away all those little choices that add up to a messy look. I think that's why a lot of "hacks" actually work better than the expensive gadgets. They just strip away the ability to make bad decisions.
