Just realized the cheap plastic bench scraper I got as a joke is my most used tool now

My old head chef gave me one of those flimsy, clear plastic bench scrapers as a parting gift when I left a job in Phoenix. I honestly thought it was a gag, like 'good luck with this junk.' I tossed it in my knife roll and forgot about it for months. Then, during a crazy Saturday service, my usual metal scraper went missing. I used the plastic one in a pinch to clear my board fast. It didn't scratch my cutting surface, it was light, and I could bend it to scoop up every last bit of minced garlic. That was six months ago, and I haven't touched my metal one since. It just works better for how I move on the line. Anyone else have a 'junk' tool that turned out to be a secret weapon?
