Used to just eyeball the flue, now I run a camera on every job
I used to just stick my head in the firebox and call it good, but after I missed a cracked flue tile on a job in Boise last month I went out and got a cheap inspection camera for $80. Turns out about 1 in 3 of the chimneys I've checked since had something I wouldn't have caught just looking up with a flashlight. It slows me down maybe 10 minutes a house but the customer photos alone have gotten me 6 callbacks. Any of you using a camera on the regular, and what are you running?
