Found a cheap way to practice Chinese characters without wasting paper

I was blowing through notebooks practicing hanzi and getting annoyed at the cost, so I grabbed a pack of dry erase sleeves from the dollar store for like $3. Slip in a blank sheet and write with a fine tip Expo marker, then just wipe it clean. Has anyone else found a solid reusable method for writing practice?

Does anyone just use a glass picture frame the same way for a bigger surface?

My dollar store whiteboard lasted two weeks before the marker smell drove me crazy.

@sarah198 did you try low-odor markers or was it just the dollar store ones that smelled bad?
