Got completely lost in the Shanghai Metro last Tuesday

I was trying to get to Jing'an Temple but took the wrong line at People's Square. Ended up in Pudong with no cell signal. Anyone know a good offline map app for China?

Oh man, that's a classic Shanghai initiation. I once spent an hour circling the same three stops because I couldn't find the right exit. For offline maps, Maps.me saved me a few times. You download the city ahead of time and it works without data.

An hour lost in a subway doesn't sound like a real initiation to me.

Maps.me is the REAL deal for offline navigation. I used it on a trip to Tokyo where data was being weird, and it got me through some crazy train stations without any hiccups. Google Maps is fine until you lose signal in a tunnel or between stops, then you're totally stuck. The key is downloading the WHOLE city map before you leave your hotel or wherever. Saved my butt more than once when I was running late to meet friends.
