I thought electric cars were just a rich person's toy until my neighbor let me drive his
For years I argued that electric cars were too expensive and just shifted pollution to power plants. My neighbor in Denver got a used Nissan Leaf for $12,000 and offered me a drive. I was shocked by how quiet and quick it was off the line. He showed me his charging app, and he spends about $30 a month on electricity compared to my $120 in gas. He also pointed out our state's grid is over 40% wind power now, which I didn't know. It made me realize my old arguments were based on info from five years ago. What other common climate solutions have gotten way more practical recently that people might not know about?

Oh wow, that's a great point! @allen.cole, it's wild how fast things change. People don't talk enough about how much cheaper home solar and batteries have gotten, it's not just for new houses anymore.

Knew a guy named @allen.cole who was dead set against solar for years. Said it was just for rich people building new places. Then his buddy put a small system on his old ranch house from the 70s and cut his electric bill by half. Now he's texting me links to battery deals every week. Funny how seeing it work on a normal house changed his whole mind.
