Just learned my daily sandwich habit adds 2 pounds of plastic waste a week

I was reading my city's waste management newsletter last Tuesday, and they had a breakdown of single-use plastic from food packaging. Turns out the pre-wrapped subs I grab from the deli counter use about 3 layers of plastic each. I buy one every workday, so that's 15 sandwiches a week, and I did the math on the wrapping weight. That shocked me because I never thought twice about it before. Has anyone else found a decent way to bring their own containers to a deli without getting weird looks?

Wrap your sandwich in a beeswax cloth instead of going full container. Keeps it fresh, zero plastic, and you just look like a trendy eco person instead of a weirdo.

Honestly, my local deli gave me a weird look the first time I handed them a glass container. I just said "trying to cut down on trash" and they shrugged and used it. Now they actually expect it from me. Took maybe 3 visits for it to feel normal.
