Just tried a 'no-buy' month for clothes and saved way more than I thought
I only planned to cut my carbon footprint from fast fashion, but I ended up saving over $150. It really showed me how small personal choices add up to bigger impact. Has anyone else tried a specific spending freeze for environmental reasons?

My friend did a full year of only buying secondhand clothes and saved almost two grand. It made her really question every purchase, like if she actually needed it or just wanted the new thing feeling. That shift in mindset is the real win, way past just the money saved. It turns the whole act of buying stuff into a conscious choice instead of a habit.

That bottle water thing is a solid example too, the filter pays for itself in like a month. I tried the secondhand thing for a year but failed at 8 months lol, still saved like 300 bucks though. The real eye opener for me was after that I started looking at the price per wear of stuff I already owned, made me realize I had like 10 shirts I'd worn maybe twice.

Oh wow, that's great. Mark676's friend is right about that mindset shift, it reminds me of when I stopped buying bottled water and just used a filter at home.
