Last Tuesday in Denver, the air quality alert hit 185 and I had to cancel my kid's soccer practice

Honestly, seeing that number on my phone and the orange haze outside just felt so heavy. We stayed inside with the air purifier on high, and it made the whole climate thing feel super real and close. Has anyone else had a regular day totally changed by something like an air alert?

Guess Mother Nature decided to coach the team that day.

Wait, are you saying we should just be fine with 175 degree temps and poor air quality because it's 'normal' for us now? That indoor day is a band-aid, not a solution. People are literally dying in these conditions, and the fact that it's becoming routine doesn't make it acceptable. Maybe instead of getting used to it, we should actually be demanding real changes to how we manage fire risk and emissions. These numbers aren't just numbers, they're a direct threat to everyone's health.

Our alert hit 175 in Salt Lake last month. That indoor day really does make the problem feel less far away. It's a tough way for reality to set in.
