My neighbor's kid asked me why we still have plastic straws at the diner

I was grabbing a coffee at the Main Street Diner yesterday and this little girl, maybe eight, pointed at my straw and said, 'My teacher says those are bad for turtles.' Her dad looked a bit embarrassed, but honestly, it hit different coming from a kid. I hadn't really thought about how normal it still is to just get handed one without asking. Now I'm looking at all the single-use stuff I just accept without a second thought. What's one small thing you all changed after a simple comment made you see it new?

Actually, straws are a pretty small part of ocean plastic.

My kid's science project showed most beach trash near us was fishing line and bottle caps.
