Switched from cloth diapers to biodegradable disposables and it's night and day

I spent 6 months using cloth diapers thinking I was saving the planet, but my water bill went up $40 a month and I was scrubbing poop stains at 11pm. Last month I switched to these compostable bamboo diapers from a local brand near Portland. They break down in 90 days vs 500 years for regular ones, and I'm not losing my mind doing laundry every other day. My friend Karen swore cloth was the only way, but she hasn't even looked at the carbon footprint of all that hot water and detergent. Has anyone else found a middle ground that actually works for both the planet and your sanity?

Compostable diapers but then I found out my city doesn't even take them for composting so that was a fun surprise.

Wait, they advertise them as compostable but the city won't take them? That's a massive oversight.
