Tried planting clover instead of grass in my front yard last spring-total surprise

Has anyone else tried switching to a native plant lawn and seen unexpected wildlife show up?

Total surprise" makes it sound like you saw a bald eagle land on a clover patch or something. I put in some clover two years ago and the biggest change was more bees, which I guess is cool, but also means my kids can't even walk across the yard without getting buzzed. Did a raccoon start using your yard as a personal spa or are we just talking about a few more butterflies?

@ryan_clark40 mentioned the raccoon thing and it reminded me of something. I did a section of native wildflowers instead of grass last year and ended up with a family of possums living under my porch. They eat ticks and snails so I let them stay. The bigger pattern I've noticed is that when you stop trying to control every inch of your yard, animals just show up and do the work for you. Less mowing, less watering, less stress.
