Vent: My neighbor's flooded basement in Cincinnati last spring made me get serious about rain barrels
We got that crazy downpour in April, and his place took on like 6 inches of water because the city drains just couldn't keep up. I was helping him pump it out, and it hit me that all that water just ran off our roofs and yards straight into the overloaded system. The next day, I bought two 55-gallon barrels and hooked them up to my downspouts. It's not a huge fix, but catching that runoff for my garden feels like actually doing something instead of just worrying. Anyone else in a rainy area set up something similar and have tips for the winter?

That downpour in April was so bad it washed my trash cans halfway down the block.

Remember when that storm blew my grill into the pool?
