Why does nobody talk about how long it takes to actually install a heat pump?

I spent three full weekends trying to get an air-source heat pump running at my place in Vermont. The online guides made it sound like a weekend project, but between figuring out the electrical panel limits and cutting through the old oil furnace pipes, it took me 18 hours total. Then the refrigerant lines needed a vacuum pump I had to borrow from a buddy in Burlington. Has anyone else dealt with the hidden steps that kill your timeline on these retrofits?
