Coolant fog nearly wrecked my spindle, check your mist collectors

I kept ignoring the haze around my Haas for a few weeks, thought it was just normal mist. Then last Tuesday the spindle temp climbed 40 degrees over baseline and alarms started popping. Turns out the mist collector filter was clogged solid with 3 months of grime, restricting airflow. Any of you running a similar setup, how often do you actually swap those filters out?

Man, I feel your pain. I run coolant mist collectors on two machines and now I just check the filter every month, no exceptions. That 40 degree spike is brutal, but honestly it's a cheap fix compared to a new spindle, so you caught it just in time.
