That week we ran a 48-hour production test on the new Haas VF-4SS with a ceramic spindle.

We pushed it to 15,000 RPM for a complex aluminum housing run, and the finish quality was so good we cut our secondary polishing time in half, which saved the project about $1,200 in labor.

We saw similar results with a high-speed spindle on some steel parts, it really cut down on our bench work time too.

Bench work is the worst part of the job, glad you found a way to cut it down. Now if only we could get a machine to do the paperwork too.

Machine to do the paperwork" is the dream. My old shop tried one of those automatic form fillers and it just kept putting the shipping address in the invoice date field. We went back to doing it by hand faster than you can say "paper jam".
