Walked into a job in Akron and the Okuma was running dry, no coolant, no chips, nothing
They said the last operator quit 3 days ago and I could tell nobody had touched the way lube either, so I want to know how long you guys let a machine sit before you refuse to hit cycle start?
Man, that story hits because it's the same thing as renting a car and the last guy ran it 8k over on the oil. People just bail when stuff gets rough and leave the mess for the next person, and it happens everywhere, not just shops. Three days with no way lube and dry ways means somebody already ate the damage, so I'd be pulling the covers and checking the turret before I even think about green button. No chip in the auger and no lube in the sight glass tells you everything about how that place is run.
