My first CSS layout week was a disaster until I found the inspect tool

Last month I spent four days fighting with flexbox on a portfolio page, every tutorial made sense until I actually opened the browser. I kept guessing margins and padding, then on Thursday I right-clicked and hit Inspect Element for the first time. Seeing the box model live on screen finally clicked after like 19 youtube videos. Has anyone else had that moment where dev tools made everything way less scary?

Honestly, dev tools feel like cheating to me. Youre just copy pasting what the browser says instead of actually learning how the code works. Spent 20 minutes clicking around Inspect Element and now you think you understand flexbox? Nah, you understand how to point and click. The real struggle is where you learn, when you have to guess and check and mess up over and over until it sticks. That pain is the whole point. If you never suffer through broken layouts, you never build the instinct for why things break in the first place. Inspect tool just shows you the answer key, but the test comes back later when nothing matches.
