PSA: That moment when your function just won't work right

I've been stuck on this one bug for like two hours now. Starting to think I should just walk away for a bit, lol.

Last Thursday I pushed through a similar bug and fixed it in twenty minutes by staying focused. Walking away might just delay the solution when you're close to solving it.

My buddy was convinced his entire database setup was broken last week. He rewrote the same connection code three times, getting more angry each pass. Turns out he was just missing a single closing bracket on a line way up at the top. The solution was stupid simple after he wasted a whole evening. Walking away is probably the smartest move you can make right now.

Come on, walking away is just quitting with extra steps. If you're already two hours deep then the answer is probably right in front of you, you're just too tired to see it. Stepping away makes you lose your entire train of thought and you'll have to restart the whole debugging process later. That missing bracket story proves my point, maybe a fresh look helps, but a determined look now would find it too. Why lose all that momentum?
