Wasted 8 months on that coding bootcamp, should've just built stuff myself

I paid $3,200 for a part-time coding bootcamp in Austin and honestly, the free tutorials on YouTube covered the same material. The instructors just read slides and the projects were copy-paste from GitHub. I still couldn't debug my own code after finishing, so I spent another month fixing basics on my own. If you're a beginner, save your cash and pick one small app to build start to finish. Has anyone else had better luck with a specific free course or did I just pick a bad school?
