Burned my Chemex pour-over three times in a row last week...

I was in my kitchen in Portland trying to multitask during a work call, left the water on the boil too long, and scorched the coffee so bad it tasted like ash... Did you guys ever figure out a way to fix that bitter mess without starting over?

Dude I just add a pinch of salt to cut the bitter, works every time.

Heard a chef once say salt actually suppresses bitterness on your tongue, not just masks it. Works with coffee too, a tiny pinch in the grounds. My neighbor swears by it for grapefruit, though I think that's just a texture thing. @paul_thompson67, you ever try it on anything sweet like dark chocolate? I did once and it just made the whole thing taste off.
