Dropped $47 at a Minneapolis coffee shop on a "flight" and could not taste one single difference
So last month I walked into this place near the river in Minneapolis that charges $12 a cup and saw they had a "single origin flight" for $47. Four little cups, each one a different bean, and the barista gave me this long talk about tasting notes while I nodded like I understood. I swear on my life all four tasted the same, maybe slightly hotter or colder, and I sat there pretending to notice "stone fruit" so I would not look dumb. The worst part is I tipped $8 on top of it because the guy was being so nice about the whole thing. My buddy ordered a plain drip for $4 and honestly his cup tasted better than my fancy ones. I could have bought a whole bag of beans I actually like for that money and had coffee for two weeks. So here is my question, has anybody actually done one of these flights and picked out real flavors, or is everyone just faking it like I was?
