Realized my morning pour-over routine has gotten ridiculous
I counted my steps this morning while making coffee - 23 separate moves from grinding to the first sip. Found that number on a coffee blog last night and thought they were exaggerating until I timed myself. Anyone else look at their own process and wonder when things got this complicated?

Man, I hear you. I got one of those fancy gooseneck kettles last year and now I'm out here timing my bloom pour to the second like I'm running a lab experiment. The other day I caught myself adjusting my grind setting by two clicks and thinking "that's the sweet spot" but honestly I couldn't tell you the difference if you put a gun to my head. My wife walked in while I was doing the whole thing and just shook her head. She drinks instant coffee from a microwave.

Did that whole dance this morning and realized I've been using the same bag of beans for three weeks because I'm scared to try a new roast and mess up my "system"? My sister came over once and asked if I was brewing coffee or performing a ritual.
