Three days of rain and my pour over finally clicked

Last week we had that big storm roll through, the one that knocked power out for two days in parts of town. I was stuck at home, nothing to do but drink coffee and watch the water come down. I had been fighting with my V60 for months, always getting that sour taste no matter what I tried. On the third day I just gave up on following the recipe from the bag and started messing with the water temp, pouring slower, letting it bloom longer. Around 2pm it just worked. Sweet, clean, no bitterness. I sat there staring at the cup like I won something. Has anyone else had a breakthrough happen when you were just bored and not even trying anymore?
