Tried a French press vs my usual pour-over setup

Used a $20 French press from Target for a week straight after years of pour-over only. The body was way better but I missed the clean taste. Anyone find a middle ground between the two or just pick one?

What is it about coffee people and never being satisfied? I swear we're all just chasing a perfect cup that doesn't exist. I've been doing the same dance with an Aeropress and a cheap Mr. Coffee drip machine. The Aeropress is clean but thin, the drip is muddy but strong. My solution is to drink both and accept that I'm just a confused caffeine zombie with no real preferences.

@umaf44 I get what you're saying but I honestly think the chase is what makes it fun for me. Once you hit that sweet spot with grind size and water temp it clicks and suddenly both methods can slap in their own way. Maybe don't settle for being a zombie, just tweak one thing at a time until the Aeropress has a bit more body or the drip gets less bitter.
