Had to choose between Milo Yiannopoulos and a BLM activist for our campus event

I'm on the student events committee at a state school in Arizona and we had to pick one speaker for our spring series. We went with the BLM activist because we thought it'd be less controversial but now half the student senate is mad at us. Anyone else deal with backlash after choosing one side over another?

Question whether it's really that serious. Half the student senate is mad? Sounds like Tuesday afternoon on a college campus. Are people actually losing sleep over this or just posting about it for the clout?

That "sounds like Tuesday afternoon" bit hits home. In my experience, most of this blows over once everyone graduates and realizes real life has way bigger problems than a student council dispute.
