I finally heard a controversial speaker at my school last week
A pro-palestine activist got invited to speak at UNC Chapel Hill and the administration added so many security rules it basically killed the Q&A session. Any other students seen speakers get quietly censored through extra rules instead of outright bans?

Are strict security rules really censorship or just common sense these days?

Hear you @leo_kelly but depends what you mean by strict. Some rules are just common sense, other times people use security as an excuse to shut down anything they don't like. Not everything is that deep.
