The professor who laughed when I asked about speaker neutrality

Last semester at a Q&A after a lecture at State, I asked a visiting professor why our department never hosted conservative voices during election years. She laughed and said "we host scholars, not activists," then moved to the next question. I think that moment showed more about the climate than any formal policy ever could. Should a college be a place for every credible perspective, or is it okay to tilt toward one side?

Did your friend ever get the same treatment, or did they just stop asking questions altogether? A buddy of mine asked a similar thing once and got told to read the syllabus, which said nothing about politics.
