Why does nobody talk about getting a speaker un-invited over a 3 word email
So our student group at Ohio State spent 5 weeks and about $1,400 booking a journalist for a free speech panel, and it got cancelled over one email where she wrote "I'll debate anyone." The school said that line was a threat to campus safety, which I still don't get, and half our members say we should have fought it and half say we should have just picked a safer speaker from the start. Now I'm stuck wondering if the invite was even worth it, because we lost the money and got nothing but a campus news article out of it. Did anyone here actually win one of these fights, or do you just eat the loss and move on?
