A guy at my LCS said my 'mint' bagging was wrecking my old books
He pointed out how the cheap polybags I was using for my 90s X-Men comics were trapping acid that was yellowing the pages, so I switched to Mylites and boards after that chat.

That "mint" bagging story is a perfect example of how the cheap fix often costs more in the long run. I see it everywhere, from people using the wrong oil in their car to skimping on tools for a project. We're so focused on the upfront price tag we ignore what it actually does to the thing we're trying to protect.

But what if the cheap fix is all someone can afford right now? I've seen people put off car repairs or use basic tools because the good option just isn't in the budget this month. Sometimes the long run cost is a problem for future you, when you might have a bit more to work with. It feels less like ignoring the problem and more like just trying to get by.
